Fifteen Minute Falafels

March 11, 2018

Falafels have been synonymous with vegans since time began, or at least since veganism began. It's probably because if they are done right then they are very tasty.

Like all good vegan food, it doesn't have to be complicated to be delicious. So we have come up with another simple recipe that tastes divine; anyone can do it.

Try these tasty falafels and see how easy they are to make. Once you try these, your future Friday snacks will be sorted for ever.

  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Cook: 10 mins

1 Can Chickpeas

1 Medium Onion

2 tbsp Plain Flour

2 Colves of Garlic

1 cup Parsley (fresh)

1 tsp Coriander (ground)

1 1/5 tsp Cumin

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Pepper

1 tbsp Oil for frying

1Wash Chickpeas & drain.

2Chop up onion.

3Add all the ingredients (apart from the oil for frying) into a food processor and blend until you have a paste consistency.

4Add extra flour if the mixture is too wet but don't over do it as you don't want the mixture to dry out. Falafels are nicest when the mix is wet so keep it as wet as possible.

5Prepare the mixture into falafel balls. It should make about seven large balls. Use the tips of your fingers to press down making a slight patty shape.

6Heat the oil in a pan.

7When the oil is hot, start frying the falafels and turning them over when golden brown.

8Once they have an all over golden colour, take them off the heat and place onto kitchen towel to soak up the excess oil.

9Serve in a sandwich or a wrap with some tasty homemade hummus and salad.
